Art and Design Projects
I first started delving into web page design about 3 years ago.
I now consider myself proficient in HTML and I am
acquiring a basic grasp of JavaScript. I am also well-versed
in the creation and manipulation of graphics file
formats associated with the internet (.gif, .jpg, .png).
Next on the list of technologies to master
is the new hyper-document language XML. I'll be posting some
showcase pages with all the latest bells and whistles
soon - for the moment I'm concerned with keeping
the site fast and readable across most common platforms which is
actually a much bigger challenge!
My services are available
for commercial web page design and coding.

My sculpture is about space and the relationship between spaces.
It is also about structure and the way space is resolved by
structure.
Some of my work explores the concept of synchronicity in
structures. i.e. where structural technique results in the whole
being more than the sum of the parts.
My training in architecture has influenced me greatly. In
particularly my study of 'tensegrity' structures and the work of
R. Buckminster Fuller. Fuller's maxim, 'less is more' is one of
the core concepts of my design philosophy.
Another theme that has preoccupied me is the subjective nature of
quality and value. My work with junk and rubbish is about how
the creative process and human imagination can create beauty and
value from nothing. To create from nothing, for me, represents
the highest artistic achievement.
(I also started the trend of wearing Nepalese hats
back-to-front.) ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ email
